I liked it
I thought it was really good
The fact is Wizards of the Coast decided to do what they did in Jan 2023 right before the release of this movie that HARMED its box office take. Yes that matters, yes it is directly connected and has bearing on this topic. 200 mil could have been 400 million or 600 million or even 800 million or more, but a conservative estimate is add 200 million doubling it for the true potential box office IF Wizards of the Coast, aka The Boneheads who own Dungeons and Dragons didn't own it and didn't make their OGL nightmare F-job move on the industry literally right before this movie opened. Had they done that year after this movie came out or even six months, that would have changed the outcome drastically. Sad really. I liked the Dungeons and Dragons movie, so did a lot of people. It wasn't perfect, but it was solid good stuff. WoTc should have many of its top leaders, the real people with decision making power FIRED and play Trump saying 'You're Fired' as they leave the building, Perp walk them outta the building for their crime of harming Dungeons and Dragons brand.
I really liked this movie alot
30 seconds in, first fail... Ed was a bard, not a thief.
The editing in the first half made me laugh so much, thanks for a good time
The main character is a Bard or is he a Rogue with Minstrel skills? He doesn't ever cast spells though, but what thief skills is he using?
I keep hearing Go Woke Go Broke.
I think you need to have a basic knowledge of D&D (the role playing game) to be able to properly criticize this movie. With this knowledge, you may be able to understand some aspects of the movie's goals, both toward fans of the game and toward those who don't know D&D yet.
It is like critizicing the Super Mario movie without basic knowledge of the console games and it's impact on general population (even in those who haven't played any of the Mario games). Critics scores it low, and yet it is a success for general public. Clearly something really important was missed by the critics.
After watching your point of view, i can undestand why non-dnd players would not like this movie, cause most of the things you point as a flow(cause you dont know the dnd lore). I watched the movie so i could point the fuck out how much the woke culture infiltrated and destroyed it, but it was amazing.
This is all true but the movie was honestly so good regardless. Easily one of the best movies of the year so far.
I still don't see how this could beat the JW4 and Mario combo, it was doomed, period. In this case the kids were kidnapped by Mario and adults by JW4, the last JW movie as far as normies know, but its true that the ending fight was underwhelming when 2 hands started fighting, instead of focusing on D&D lore and rules, they should have taken creative liberties.
such a shame it didn't make the money, i mena i'm prt of the problem i pirated it but it was really good can't deny that, best movie i've seen in a long while
i loved it but i pirete all my moveis lately it's getting impossible to watch movies.
The smash one got me ☠️☠️
This was a very good movie and I really wish I gave it a chance. No one talked about it so I didn't know if anyone actually cared about it. Even though it's on Paramount Plus I still might want to buy it because there's a gag reel which is always great!
If it does well in streaming and there’s a very obvious audience demand for another it becomes a sure thing and the studio will make it
the dnd movie was soooo good
this is surprising to hear
I think if you were to have a single character fill the screen as you say it wouldn't feel like a real D&D campaign as much as it did. I think that's why fans of the game appreciate it so much while casual viewers might be underwhelmed.
This how movies with lore should be! It was goofy but the lore was there
